Donald Deline on The Brazilian Job
ComingSoon.net
On another note, we were curious whether there was any word on a sequel to De Line's 2003 hit caper remake The Italian Job, which brought together Mark Wahlberg, Charlize Theron, Ed Norton, Donald Sutherland, Jason Statham, Seth Green and Mos Def. Over the years, all of them have been asked about whether the proposed sequel The Brazilian Job might happen, and De Line gave hope for it finally rolling forward. "We're trying right now. They all want to do the sequel. We have a version at Paramount that we're talking very serious about, so hopefully, if we're lucky in the next year we can pull it together. They're all very successful and very busy, which is great, but they all have a real affection and passion for that movie, so they want to come back and do another, which is nice. We'll get them together hopefully."

Jason Statham on The Brazilian Job

Any word about ‘Brazilian Job’?
It's funny a lot of people keep asking me about that, I am not sure what is happening. I would be very happy to work with Mark [Wahlberg] and Charlize [Theron] and Mos Def and Seth [Green] they were a good little group. If that comes along I will be smiling.
This movie seems to be up in the air, we may not see it until 2008 at this rate. Hopefully we will hear more news when Mark does The Departed publicity.

Now you might do "The Brazilian Job," which is a sequel to "The Italian Job." Do you think Charlize Theron should dump Mark Wahlberg in the sequel to hook up with you?
Wouldn't that be a dream come true? It's simply not fair at all that Mark got the girl the last time. We should actually start a petition. Let's call it the "Jason Should Have a Romance With Charlize in Part Two." I'll be the first to sign it.

Looks like this may enter into development hell. Should of done it before the Oscars.
What about THE ITALIAN JOB 2? (Tentatively titled THE BRAZILIAN JOB)
That’s a little bit more complicated because there’s a lot more people’s schedules to run together, so I don’t know how that’s gonna play out, but I’m good friends with Charlize (Theron) and Mark (Wahlberg), Seth (Green) and Mos (Def), and they all want to do it, so yeah, it would be great. For me, it’s not like working. (Laughs)

No "Job" yet, reports Seth Green By Marilyn Beck and Stacy Jenel Smith
Source: LA Daily News
Forget reports that have "The Italian Job II" -- also known as "The Brazilian Job" -- ready to roll. In fact, there's not even a completed script as yet for the proposed sequel to the 2003 hit starring Mark Wahlberg, Charlize Theron, Jason Statham, Mos Def and Seth Green.
Green says, "There are a couple of things I'm eyeing" as far as his next acting gig (with his NBC sitcom "Four Kings" breathing its last). But he's not in a rush to return to the work pace he kept with all his '05 projects -- with "Kings," his "Family Guy" voice work, the big screen's "The Best Man," and his beloved labor of silliness, his Cartoon Channel Adult Swim show, "Robot Chicken."

Mark on Brazilian Job
MTV
Well just 2 days after I posted the exclusive news from David that The Brazilian Job was a go in 2007, Mark goes off and tells MTV. Didn't like being outscooped eh?
Wahlberg will start with the highly anticipated "The Brazilian Job," a heist movie sequel that was held up itself while writer David Twohy ("Pitch Black") put together the finishing touches. "A lot of people really liked ['The Italian Job'], and a lot of movie sequels don't live up to the original, so we want to make it as good, or better; and we're all patient," Wahlberg added. "Charlize [Theron] and everybody is in, so we're just waiting for the right script. Hopefully, I think, probably around summertime we're gonna film it."
He also said about his picking films: "I don't want to offend any filmmakers, but I've signed on to two movies in my career without seeing the script," admitted Mark Wahlberg, shamefully 'fessing to past mistakes. "[Now], it's all about the script. ... I'm only making movies now that I want to see, or that I think that people want to see me in."
Any guesses on the 2 films?

The Brazilian Job - exclusive update
Thanks to the writer of the script, David Twohy!!
I'm just doing final tweaks on the script now. But the producers and Paramount want to start production in late spring. That would allow us to release THE BRAZILIAN JOB in the summer of 2007. All actors should be returning.

Twohy Gets a Job/Riddick filmmaker writing Italian Job sequel
IGN
Pitch Black and Riddick filmmaker David Twohy has signed with Paramount Pictures to write the script for The Brazilian Job, the sequel to the 2003 heist pic The Italian Job, which starred Mark Wahlberg, Charlize Theron, an ensemble cast and a slew of Mini Coopers.
According to today's Variety, Twohy initially approached Paramount with an original screenplay he had written entitled The Wrecking Crew. The studio reportedly liked the idea, but thought it would work better as a sequel. Twohy agreed to adapt the idea as a second Job installment.
Director F. Gary Gray is set to return as is most, if not all, of the original cast. The trade adds that the studio is already being wooed by automakers to have their cars featured in the flick.
There's no timeframe given, but the picture will be shot on location in Brazil. We'll have more for ya as it develops.

The Italian Job ride in USA
Cincinatti Post
"The Italian Job: Stunt Track," the park's latest roller coaster attraction, is scheduled to make its official debut on May 20. However, its track is complete, the three-Mini-Cooper-car-trains are in the station (and being tested) and such special effects as a looming helicopter are already in place. Although no dates have been announced, the ride will begin "technical rehearsals" in mid-to-late April, during which park guests may ride it and "give us feedback," said Jeffrey Siebert, the park's marketing communications manager.
It is very visible behind the Eiffel Tower, in the former location of the Antique Cars ride. There's now a big hill behind the park's famous floral clock, and the ride is a combination of indoor and outdoor elements. "The biggest challenge was changing the terrain," said Siebert.
A recent pre-season walking tour of the ride offered an inside view of the roller coaster themed to "The Italian Job," the 2003 action film that starred Mark Wahlberg and Charlize Theron. "The premise is that we're teaching you to be a Hollywood stunt driver," Siebert explained.
The ride incorporates several elements of the film's climactic chase scene (which involved the "adorable" Mini Cooper cars as an elemental plot element), including a triple-helix, upward spiral through a "parking garage," a bumpy descent into a subway tunnel, a fish-tailing scene past police cars flashing their lights, an 11-second stop that involves a bullet-ridden encounter with the helicopter and fiery explosions, and the tunnel finale that twists and dives in the dark underground to emerge into an aqueduct "splashdown" through a billboard.
Although it's themed to a PG-13 movie, the ride itself is considered to be more of a high-tech family experience than a physically intense thrill ride. The height requirement is 48 inches, and top speed is 40 mph for the 2-minute ride, which is synchronized to music and sounds with speakers inside the cars.
Siebert, who took a test ride last week, said it's extremely smooth, with no stomach-wrenching moments. " It's fun, fast and it makes you giggle."
